What happens during treatment?
A typical Fraxel treatment is completed in about 30 to 45 minutes, but we allow an appointment time of two hours for pre and post care. Most of our clients describe a ‘prickling’ sensation during the treatment. A topical anaesthetic is applied before the procedure to minimise discomfort and cold air is applied throughout the treatment, which helps combat the heat your skin generates.
How many treatments do I need and how often?
An effective treatment plan usually includes three Fraxel and LED Light Therapy treatments, spaced approximately three to four weeks apart.
What will my skin look like immediately after?
Fraxel re:fine is designed to have minimal downtime. After the procedure it is common to experience a sunburned feeling but this usually diminishes after two to three hours. Some clients experience a mild swelling and puffiness for two to three days. Clients can wear make-up to reduce the sunburned appearance and it is imperative to wear a sunblock after the treatment to protect your skin. We usually treat on Fridays to minimise downtime from work commitments.
How long will it last?
We recommend a “top up” course every two to three years.
