Important Information

  • Pre-Care

    Pre-Care Treatment Advice

Consultation: Have a thorough consultation with your practitioner to discuss your medical history, allergies, and desired outcomes.

Avoid Blood Thinners: Refrain from taking blood-thinning medications (like aspirin, ibuprofen, and certain supplements such as fish oil, vitamin E, and garlic) for at least a week before your treatment to reduce the risk of bruising.

Limit Alcohol Consumption: Avoid drinking alcohol for at least 24 hours prior to your appointment, as alcohol can increase the likelihood of bruising.

Stay Hydrated: Drink plenty of water in the days leading up to your treatment to ensure your skin is well-hydrated.

Avoid Certain Skin Treatments: Do not undergo any other skin treatments (such as facials, chemical peels, or microdermabrasion) at least a week before your Botox appointment.

Inform Your Practitioner: Inform your practitioner of any medications, vitamins, or supplements you are taking to avoid potential interactions.

Avoid Excessive Sun Exposure: Limit your sun exposure and avoid tanning beds for at least a week prior to your appointment to minimise skin sensitivity.

Schedule Accordingly: Plan your Botox treatment at least two weeks before any major events to allow time for any potential swelling or bruising to subside.

Arrive with a Clean Face: Come to your appointment with a clean face, free of makeup, lotions, or other skincare products.

Ask Questions: Prepare any questions or concerns you might have for your practitioner to ensure you are fully informed and comfortable with the procedure.

  • Post-Care

Avoid Touching the Treated Area: Refrain from rubbing, massaging, or applying pressure to the treated areas for at least 24 hours to prevent the Botox from spreading to unintended muscles.

Stay Upright: Remain upright for at least 4 hours after your Botox treatment. Avoid lying down or bending over excessively.

Avoid Exercise: Skip intense physical activities and exercise for 24 hours post-treatment to reduce the risk of bruising.

No Alcohol or Blood Thinners: Avoid consuming alcohol or taking blood-thinning medications (such as aspirin or ibuprofen) for 24 hours after the treatment to minimise bruising.

Cold Compress: Apply a cold compress to the treated area to reduce swelling and discomfort, if necessary.

Stay Hydrated: Drink plenty of water to stay hydrated and help the skin heal.

Avoid Heat Exposure: Stay away from saunas, hot tubs, tanning beds, or any intense heat exposure for at least 24 hours post-treatment.

Limit Sun Exposure: Protect your skin from direct sunlight and wear sunscreen to prevent UV damage.

Facial Expressions: Gently exercise your facial muscles by making different facial expressions for about 30 minutes post-treatment to help the Botox settle.

Avoid Skin Treatments: Refrain from undergoing any other facial treatments (like facials, microdermabrasion, or chemical peels) for at least a week post-Botox.

Follow-Up Appointment: Schedule a follow-up appointment with your practitioner to assess the results and determine if any touch-ups are necessary.

Report Side Effects: If you experience any unusual side effects such as severe headache, difficulty swallowing, or muscle weakness, contact your healthcare provider immediately.
