Pigmentation, Sun Damage
Pigmentation will effect most people at some stage in their life due to the amount of time we spend outside. It is activated by the sun but can be triggered by other lifestyle factors such as stress. There is no cure or quick fix for pigmentation, rather it is a combination of skin corrective treatment courses, cosmeceutical skincare, lifestyle changes and broad spectrum physical sunscreen. About Face has long been known for treating pigmentation.
Pigmentation/ Sun Damage
UVR radiation from the sun causes your collagen and elastin fibres to breakdown at a much faster rate (leading to fine lines and wrinkles) and also causes excessive pigmentation. Pigmentation is also often associated with hormones but can be treated very effectively with IPL and/or Lasers and a good quality SPF. Pigmentation is aggravated by sluggish liver function from diet and lifestyle factors and stress.
Pore Size
Stressing over the size of your pores is a common thing - the smaller the pore, the clearer your skin appears. Larger pores are most common in older or oily skin but can occur at any age. A combination of genetics, diet and skincare routine and cause larger pores. You cannot reduce the pore size, but you can make them appear smaller or more refined.
Pore Size
Enlarged pores are caused by the body producing sebum, an oily substance we secrete to make the skin waterproof and keep it from drying out. People with oily skin naturally have larger pores. Another contributing factor is age. As you age and the skin loses elasticity it causes the pores to look bigger.
Pregnancy
During pregnancy hormones can make changes to your skin. Often it can be glowing and perfect or sometimes it can become sensitive, breakout and occasionally you'll get brown spots appearing for the first time. It's best to adjust your skincare routine for pregnancy to deal with the hormonal changes and to keep it in the best possible condition.
